THIS IS NO LAUGHING MATTER

I've been taking a lot of shots at the GOP-body's that "really, really, really" want to be President and having a grand time doing it (only half-way wishing there was still a talk show to be writing for), and I have to say that my choice is clear. After watching President Obama deliver his State of the Union Address and watching the Gab-Four "debate" each other over the past few weeks, it is obvious to me who has a clear vision for the future of this country. The following is paraphrased from The State of the Union (as a courtesy to any tea-partiers out there , as that is the way you for information disseminated) . . .

"Let’s never forget: Millions of Americans who work hard and play by the rules every day deserve a Government and a financial system that do the same. It’s time to apply the same rules from top to bottom: No bailouts, no handouts, and no cop outs. An America built to last insists on responsibility from everybody. -- We need to end the notion that the two parties must be locked in a perpetual campaign of mutual destruction; that politics is about clinging to rigid ideologies instead of building consensus around common sense ideas. -- Now, you can call this class warfare all you want. But asking a billionaire to pay at least as much as his secretary in taxes? Most Americans would call that common sense. --You see, an economy built to last is one where we encourage the talent and ingenuity of every person in this country. That means women should earn equal pay for equal work. It means we should support everyone who’s willing to work; and every risk-taker and entrepreneur who aspires to become the next Steve Jobs."

While I have never seen four less-Presidential, less equipped hopefuls in my life, there is nary a one of them capable of matching an ideological course similar - not the plutocrat, not the autocrat, not the biblecrat, and sadly not Ron. But, I digress. I am reminded of that little voice in the back of my head eleven years ago that whispered to me, "There is no way anyone as stupid as George W. Bush can be elected President." Do not underestimate the lengths that the Republican party will go to to regain The White House. Do not dare become complacent over the next ten months (that's right we have to live with one of these idiots hanging over our heads for ten months). Each and everyday, remind someone near you of what it was like under the rule of The Boy King AND what it will be like under the any of these bottom of the barrel politicians. Complacency loses elections. AND no matter how hopeful or bleak it may become, come November, VOTE! Drag your neighbor to the poles if you have to, get involved in anyway you can. THIS MATTERS!!!!

  1. This is a great post! Thanks for the reminder. Sometimes I get so caught up in making fun of the Tea Party, I forget how powerful stupidity can be, especially in numbers. So thank you again.
